In January 2006 I became self employed and launced Julie Wright Photographic. The aims behind my ideas was to use the experience I had gained previously as a single parent, Community Development Manager, Youth Worker and Junior football coach to document positive images of family life.
It was my Mother who inspired me to take the photography further as a means to coping with caring duties after her cancer diagnosis in 2005. My husband allowed me to sacrifice a salary, and my Dad has been on hand to help us out...thank goodness. My daughters live thousands of miles away, but keep me going and make me proud. Support from family, freinds and colleagues has made it possible for me to develop my work.
My personal experiences have given me a great understanding of what is important to remember, this is what my work is about.
